[23 November 2019] Technical Visit Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre

We are pleased be a supporting organization of “Technical Visit Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre” organized by CIWEM on 23 November 2019.

Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park is the home to over 60 coral and 120 fish species. WWF’s The Jockey Club HSBC WWF Hong Kong Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre offers participants opportunities to appreciate the valuable marine resources. WWF’s education activities provide interesting and interactive programmes to enhance the understanding of issues related to marine environment and fisheries. The aim of this visit is to provide participants the experience of collecting data on the state of Hoi Ha Wan marine environment, knowing the species of plankton, fish and corals, and visiting the reef on the glass-bottomed boat. Participants will arrive at Hoi Ha Village with a short briefing, then walk (~10 mins on hiking trail) to Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre to observe planktons through a microscope, identify plankton species, collect species data and record in the plankton database, followed by coral watching trip in a glass-bottomed boat, and walk back to Hoi Ha Village at the end.
