Hong Kong Session
The topic of Race to Resilience Asia event series of Hong Kong Session is “What is the key to a flood resilient Hong Kong?” to be hold on 1 November 2022 (Tuesday).
As a low-lying coastal city, Hong Kong is highly susceptible to weather related threats such as tropical cyclones, rainstorms and storm surges. In addition, climate change has resulted in a continuous rise in the sea level, posing a potential threat to low-lying areas in the long run.
More than ever, the city’s public infrastructure and buildings need to be planned and designed holistically to ensure transformative resilience as suggested by the latest IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report Working Group II (AR WGII) report.
Join this session to learn more about the urgency and the magnitude of the flood risk that Hong Kong is facing and obtain insights from both the private and public sectors on the resilient strategies and interventions that they are deploying.
