In recent years, there has been a growing recognition in the Hong Kong government and the community of the importance of agriculture in stabilising food supply, improving quality of life and balancing urban and rural development. However, not many farms in Hong Kong practise sustainable agriculture. The “Sustainable Agriculture” course of the Academy for Sustainable Communities introduces the basic concept of sustainable agriculture. Students will learn about the theories and practices of sustainable agriculture through local case studies, farm visits and farming practicum.The course is taught by experienced organic farming practitioner Mr Yip Tsz Lam and is comprehensive in content, covering organic farming, farm operation, habitat management, village communities, urban agriculture, crop processing and sales, agricultural history and policy, etc.

近年香港政府和民間都愈來愈關注農業對穩定糧食供應、提升生活質素同埋平衡城鄉發展的重要性，但實踐永續農業的本地農場仍然不多。永續社區學院「永續農業」課程將會介紹永續農業的基本概念，並通過本地案例研究、農場考察和田間實習，讓學生認識永續農業理論和實踐。

課程由資深有機農業工作者葉子林先生任教，內容全面，涵蓋有機耕種、農場運作、生境管理、農村社區、都市農業、農產加工及銷售、農業歷史及政策等。

課程制式：		 Part-time (classes on weekdays evenings and weekends)
兼讀制（平日晚上及周末上課）

教學語言：		 English, supplemented with Cantonese
英語，輔以廣東話
