Dear HKIQEP Member,

We are delighted to invite you to join a technical visit to the JiangMen Acoustic Laboratory, organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Acoustics (HKIOA) with the support of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals (HKIQEP). As a co-organizer, HKIQEP members are eligible for a special discount on the admission fee.

Here are the event details:

Event Details:
– **Date:** Saturday, 14th October 2023
– **Time:** Full-day trip from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
– **Language:** The event will be conducted in Cantonese, with English support available.

**Introduction:**
The JiangMen Acoustic Test Centre is a state-of-the-art facility comprising two divisions. One is a branch laboratory of Acoustic Testing Services Limited (ATSL), a HOKLAS accredited laboratory that offers a wide range of accredited acoustic testing services for building materials and products. The other division focuses on testing the acoustic performance of items like acoustic windows and balconies and is operated by Architectural Acoustics (HK) Limited (AAHK).

The accredited tests that can be conducted at JiangMen Acoustic Test Centre include:
– Impact Insulation Test
– Rain Impact Test
– Sound Insulation Test
– Sound Absorption Test
– Silencer Test
– Façade Flanking Test

**About Dr. CHONG Fan:**
Dr. CHONG Fan, the laboratory director of ATSL, has an impressive background in acoustics and has been involved in various projects. He established Acoustic Testing Services Limited in Hong Kong, providing HOKLAS accredited acoustic tests and measurements. Dr. CHONG Fan has also provided acoustic consultancy services for notable local projects.

**Tentative Itinerary:**
– 11:00 AM: Assembly at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Zhuhai Port
– 11:15 AM: Departure by tour bus to JiangMen Laboratory
– 12:15 PM: Lunch
– 1:30 PM: Laboratory Tour
– 4:30 PM: Return by tour bus to Zhuhai Port
– 5:30 PM: Dismissal at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Zhuhai Port

Participants can conveniently take the 金巴 from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port to the Zhuhai Port, with a travel time of approximately 40 minutes.

**Registration:**
– Admission fee: HK$100 for HKIOA and supporting organization members, and HK$200 for non-members.
– Limited to 40 participants.
– Application deadline: 6:00 PM on 7th October 2023.
– Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
– A 4-hour electronic CPD certificate will be provided via email to participants after the visit.
– Payment options: PayPal or FPS.
– Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email.
